Alpaca wool is the best wool I've found. It benefits from blending with other fabrics for durability. These socks are on par with the best. They fit my size 11 feet like they were made for them. The wool provides odor control, breathability, and best of all warmth. The only downside is the price for alpaca, especially baby alpaca wool products. Your feet are worth the extra price.
I can’t speak for the value of this product I don’t think because I think they are a little bit salty. However, alpaca is a very high-quality material. These socks are super comfortable and fit perfectly with the sizing for me. They’re obviously very versatile for hiking and cold weather. They are very, very high-quality socks in my opinion and incredibly soft. I really have nothing to say bad about them other than as I said, I question the value a boy are they nice!
I debated about these socks but decided to go for it. So glad I did! Often wool socks are too thick for my liking and make my walking shoes or hiking shoes feel too tight, or even make my heel slip because of the bulky socks. If I choose the thin ones they aren't warm enough when the temperatures drop. I think these socks are just perfect! They are thick enough to be cushy but not overly bulky. The soles are thicker than the tops and I like that too. The socks are SO soft and comfortable. They are somewhat temperature regulating but I do find them warm on a hot day. But I got these for hiking mostly and they'll be perfect. We are going on an Alaskan cruise and then a week later to camp and hike at the Oregon Coast and Columbia River Gorge while visiting our kids in Oregon. These will be ideal. So far I just tried these for a short hike in my area, but my feet stayed so content! I have nerve pain and these actually helped me stay more comfortable. I am super sensitive to things like toe seams, but no worries here, I don't feel any kind of seam or bumps in these socks.Oh, and I need to mention the top of the socks, tight sock cuffs not only bother me but start causing me pain. These were described as having a "comfort cuff", and YES, they do! These somehow stay where I want them, but do not constrict or feel tight at all.I got the medium, I'm female and wear a size 8. These fit well, but not snug, so they would work for someone with a larger foot as well. I do think that if you had a foot smaller than maybe a size 7 women's these could be too large for you. I had intended to wash them on cold and air dry, but I accidentally threw them in the dryer - on low thankfully - but they did not shrink, whew! But I will take care in the future, I don't want to ruin my lovely socks.These are a fantastic sock, the quality is excellent. Recommend. Even at this price - worth it.

Pricey, but worth it for this purchase. Surely, there be a better percentages of baby alpaca wool that you get, or better mixed materials socks out there. Hareloom is a decent socks. Large size fits me well, on a size 9. Cool to the touch, and doesn't heat up. Thick socks, and holds frame.
These socks are very fluffy; thicker than the ones I usually wear. They have warmth for late fall and winter.I The workmanship of these socks is smooth, without lumps where the fabric transitions from the toes to the main tube of the socks. The top of the socks have a tighter knitting, they stay up without compressing the ankle. These are likely the finest socks that I have
These sock are the bomb! Made with alpaca wool, they are super duper soft! Alpaca is not known for its ability to hold its shape, so the added nylon is mandatory. I love the ribbing around the foot too. These socks stay in place! They dont stretch when you put your boots on. They reach up to my calves to keep my legs warm too. These will be my favorite socks this winter. Just a personal note: I probably wont put them in the dryer. I knit socks and the dryer generally ruins socks over time.
Friends, these are some good socks. Putting them on, I found them to be firmly snug, but not too tight. And, oh, are they soft. Very cushy feel as I wore them.The color is standard black, so no problems there. They are going to feel great in the winter, whether with boots or sneakers. You can tell by handling (and wearing!) these that the quality is outstanding -- thick and well-made.I'm glad I got these socks. As to value for the money, that will depend on your situation in life. If you are looking for a really solid pair of socks because you need something just right for hiking -- well, these will fit your bill. If you are looking for something comfortable to wear around, you might feel that the cost is not commensurate with the product, as comfortable as it is. For myself, I'd buy the pair for the former category, but not the latter.

These are pretty nice, comfortable, medium weight and thickness. They are very warm and the fit is good. They are 41% baby alpaca, the remainder a combination of acrylic, nylon and spandex. I do think these are a bit pricey.As a comparison, I purchased some heavier weight ones that were in a set of 3, costing about $21 a pair from Amazon, and they were a higher percentage of alpaca and then 22% merino and only a little spandex. The heavier ones from the set do pill. They are thicker so there could be a fit problem depending on your footwear. These don't appear to pill and they are thinner, but still a mid-weight cushion area.For this price I will only purchase these for trips where I'm trekking around out in the cold and rough areas. I would consider them for more regular use during colder seasons if it weren't for the price.

I bought alpaca socks. HARELOOM Alpaca Trail Crew socks. Thick ones. Made from alpaca hair. Yes. Alpaca. The animal.I live in Texas. It is 100 degrees here. The sun is angry. The sidewalk cooks eggs for fun.So I put on thick alpaca socks. On a 100 degree day. On purpose. With my own feet.Nobody does this. Nobody walks into that heat and says they need alpaca hair on their toes. Nobody. Except me. I am that guy. Hello again.Let me talk about the alpaca thing. Because it is weird.An alpaca is a fuzzy animal. It looks like a llama who skipped the gym. It lives up in the cold mountains. It has thick hair to stay warm. That is the whole point of the alpaca.And now that hair is on my feet. In Texas. In summer. The alpaca grew this hair to fight snow. I am using it to fight a heat wave. That is not what the alpaca planned. The alpaca would be confused. The alpaca would want a word.My brain warned me. It said stop. It said your feet will melt. It said you are about to boil your own toes inside your boots. I ignored my brain. My brain has been wrong before.I laced up. I went outside. I waited for the swamp.The swamp never came.No sores. That shocked me. My boots love to bite my feet. They rub. They pinch. They leave little red marks like tiny complaints. Not today. The alpaca hair sat there like a soft little pillow. My feet stayed calm. No sores at all.No funk. That shocked me more. Feet in boots in Texas heat should smell like a warning. They should clear a room. But I pulled my boots off and nothing happened. No cloud. No stink. No shame. Just feet. Normal feet. Boring, clean feet.Now here is the part I cannot explain.I thought I would wring these socks out. I pictured a bucket. I pictured a splash. I pictured pouring my own foot sweat into the yard like a sad little pitcher.The socks were dry. Somehow dry. They breathe. The alpaca hair breathes. My feet breathe. In boots. In summer. In the worst heat Texas has.I looked at these socks. Thick. Fuzzy. Puffy. They look like they should drown my feet. They look like tiny sweaters for each toe. They look like a mistake shaped like a sock.They are not a mistake. They are a small miracle. The socks lie in the best way. Warm animal on the outside. Cool feet on the inside. A magic trick I wear on my feet.So the alpaca wins. The weird fuzzy mountain animal wins. I hate to say it. But the hair works. Every strand of it. I bow to the alpaca now.They fit great too. Snug. Not tight. They hug the foot and stay put. No sliding down into the boot. No bunching up under the heel. They just sit there and do their job.So here is the report. No sores. No funk. Dry feet in Texas heat. All thanks to an animal that has never once seen Texas.
Wow! These socks are so incredibly soft but also provide terrific cushioning for the soles of your feet! The baby alpaca wool is amazing. It's soft and almost silky feeling. The knit pattern is beautiful as well, with scalloped detailing. But I really wasn't expecting them to be so well cushioned. The toe seam is flat and doesn't rub. They are perfect for hiking, but I suspect I'll also be using them by the fireplace on cold winter nights! They are a terrific value for the money and I can highly recommend them!
